Patina - The Coloring of the Bronze

Stage Sixteen

Bryan MacIntyre, patinist at Polich Art Works, applies chemical colors to the blow-torch heated bronze, while the sculptor looks on. The heating of the metal opens the pores of the bronze so that the colors become part of the sculpture, once cooled, thereby the finish is not merely topical.
